| when does she become an adult? My yorkies is almost 4 months, when will she considered an adult dog

| I often wondered that myself. I think once they are a year old they are considered adults

| well i have 2 that our going to be three and one that will be 2 and they all still play and act like pups at time so im not sure either but i always thought 1 yr was adult.

| I always thought they were considered adults after they were at least a year old, but I dont know for certain

| A year old is considered an adult dog, but if you're referring to when she can go into heat, that's different. That can happen anywhere from 5-6 months and up |

| One year is usually considered an adult, but it depends what you're asking. Adult as in heat? Temperment? Size?

| I read you can start them on adult food at 8 months. I always thought a year was adult food age though.

| While it seems that most dogs are adult physically by 1 year of age, many don't grow out of adolescent behavior until around 2 years. Sort of like skin adoloscents - they may be tall, but they sure aren't "mature" yet, right?

| I was told that they become an adult at 12 months of age but I might be wrong. Some adult dogs still have personalities like puppies. They are still as playful. |
