| I hate to ask this but............... has anyone here at YT heard of there yorkie dying while sleeping in bed w/you? From suffocating or being crushed? I am only asking because lastnight when I went to bed I put Autumn in the bed w/me ( I usually dont-she is usually gated in my bathroom w/her own bed) I woke up around 12 or so and was going to put her out. Her head was under my hubby's pillow and when I picked her up she was completely limp. Just hung in my hand like a wet noodle. I started to panic and she still did not move so of course I jumped up and that must of startled her because she tightened up and yawned but oh my was I so scared! Has anyone heard of this happening? Thanks for the post and sorry if it opens old memories! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm sad to say yes. My girls sleep with me but only under their own blankets if it's cold - never under the sheets especially after reading about what 'could' happen...that had to be scary - she could have been in a deep sleep but I wouldn't let her sleep under pillows just in case |

| I had a little one that use to sleep with me. She scared me several times in the same way. I would wake up and check on her and she would be limp. She would not wake up right away. I think she was just so sound asleep. Scare me to death though. The panic made it impossible to go back to sleep. She had to sleep in her crate for quite awhile after that. |

| I hadn't heard about anything like this happening, but when I got my yorkie, he would sleep on the couch when I was up working late and he would snuggle in next to me with his head buried in between me and the couch. I picked him up and he was limp. I panicked! I put him on the floor to check if he could stand (this happened with another dog of ours - food poisoning - and she couldn't stand or register that we were even there). He woke up and was standing just fine. Sorry for the long post, but I don't think you have anything to worry about. These babies are tougher than they look and they won't lie in a way to cause danger to themselves. Their survival instinct is much too strong for that. I know it is scary, but the chances are very, very slim for him suffocating. He will make you up if you lie on him.

| Both the kids sleep with us in our king size bed but are never allowed under the covers. I've never had troubles with any of our dogs sleeping with us but we've never allowed them under the covers at anytime.

| After reading this I think I am going to be sure Bebe sleep's on top of the covers from now on. He does usually does now anyway because it is getting hotter, but he has slept under covers in the winter. Thanks for alerting me to this |

YT Addict | LullaBelle loves the water bed. LullaBelle sleeps with us on our water bed, so it would be really hard for her to get under either one of us. She usually sleeps at the foot of the bed or right between us . Only when my honey is out of town she will snuggle up with me under the covers its so cute. I am usually on my side and she gets under the covers and lays at my chest with her head on my pillow. Its so darling and very comforting when hes is out of town and can't be with LullaBelle and I. |

| Ellie sleeps with me but she sleeps on top of the blankets (she likes it better). The only time her head is allowed under the covers is when we are playing so I can watch her. I don't mind if her body is under them though. I have woken up to find her partly under me quite a bit. It is usually a couple of her paws. It never seems to bother her. When I am awake in bed and turn I make sure I didn't pull any covers over her.
