| How Much Longer?? Does anyone know how long it takes for the coat to get long? Bailey is almost 7 months and her coat is still pretty short. I always ask the groomer to not cut her hair because i want to grow it out but she still has the shorter puppy like hair. When will her hair get longer and lighter? |

| There is a possibility it won't get any longer, if it hasn't continued to grow. Try using missing link, that might help. Did you see her parents? How does her coat compare to theirs?

My furkids Donating Member | It takes a while for them to have their full coat. Sadie's coat never got real long...I believe she was at her adult color by 2 yrs old. Lillie is only 11 months old so she is still changing and growing...Her coat is longer now than Sadies and Sadie is 3 yrs old...Not all yorkies have long coats like you see on show dogs.

| You could try adding some omega-3 essential fatty acids to your baby's diet through Missing Link or Fish oil. This helps with the coat and is good for them

| Both her parents coats were long and silver, however the breeder said she didnt expect the litter bailey came from to be nearly as silver. Bailey is 7 months and her coat is really thick, shes black and gold with maybe a few whisps of silver on the top of her head. Her hair is much longer than it was when i first got her, but it just seems to take FOREVER! I love the really loooong beautiful hair that I see on some yorkies... |

| I think it definitely depends on the dog! I've taken Sukoshi to the groomer twice now (she's 9 months old today), and both times, the groomer has commented on how long her hair is for her age. I've seen other dogs her age though that have short hair, so who knows! I say try to be patient. Sorry! |
