| Hi, I am a new momma of a little girl.. HI ! I have waited 2 years ,searching and looking and now I have my little girl. She is adorable . I named her Princess, cause she is gonna be spoiled like one. I have a question about her ears, the breeder had them taped and shaved , but she didn't shave off alot of the hair, I was wondering should I shave them more and retape them or just wait and see if they come up on their own? The breeder said she usually has to tape them to stand. I am so happy with her. I can't wait till she gets bigger, I want to put little bows in her hair and dresses and all the little girl things. I will post some pics of her. Mary Lowe West Virginia |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I'm not an expert in ear taping, so I'll leave that to others. However, I am an expert in identifying cute Yorkies, and you definitely have one in Princess. Congratulations, and welcome to YT!

| Congrats, she sure is adorable. Sorry, I don't know anything about tapping ears as our Zoe came with super perky ears. I'm sure someone here will help you or do a search using the search function. |

| I don't know anything about taping their ears. My breeder didn't tape their ears she gave them NutraStat daily and their ears came up. She is a firm believer in this and who am I to question, Stella's ears were up at 7 weeks without being shaved. I have continued to use it daily because it is a good supplement to her diet. |

| I don't know about taping...I only know that it depends upon each yorkie if/when the ears will decide to stand. My puppy's ears stood up finally at about 3 months. One came up one day and one the next. Now they change daily from floppy to up, today one is floppy the other is up, so who knows?? I think he's teething so that could be the reason they've been doing funny things (I think I heard that somewhere ) but anyway to answer your question, I would just shave the top 1/3 of the ear. And if you google yorkie ear taping you should get some results. Good luck!! Your baby girl is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

| Our little Sophie came home with floppy ears, but they perked up after a couple weeks with her. Our groomer really trims around her ears. I don't think I would tape ears, they are cute with floppy ones too!!!

| She is very very cute! Gracie's ears were still not up at 4 months. She had one up, one down. I finally taped the one year. You shave the top 1/3, front, back and sides, then gently fold the ears together so that they look like a taco shell, then tape them to hold them in place. I did this using plain scotch tape. Gracie took the tape off about 24 hours later. By then, her ear was standing. I used a personal trimmer, but you could use animal clippers. Good luck!
