| Should My Yorkie Sleep With Me? Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I tried searching a few times, and all the words were too short or common, so I didn't get any results, lol... I'm wondering about whether I should let my baby sleep with me at night when he comes home. I guess there are a few options, can you all let me know what you did, and how it worked out with you? I could put him in the kennel at night, this will help with pottytraining faster, I think, but I really want to sleep with him, because I have always slept with my dogs. I also worry about whether it will make him less cuddly and affectionate if he's in his crate all night. I am kind of leaning towards letting him sleep with me. If he has accidents, its no big deal, I'll clean them up, thats not an issue. Also, I think it would be easier for him to wake me up to go potty outside if he was sleeping with me. I don't know. You can tell I'm all over the place on this issue, so any input you have would be great!

| i had bella sleep in the crate for the first few months i had her...then i slowly brought her to the bed, as she got bigger, bc i was scared of hurting her. and eventually she slept full time. there is nothing better than sleeping with your baby....as far a how it will affect potty training, i am not sure. but i am sure someone will help soon...good luck!!

| I think if you are potty training it is better to keep her in a crate. You can keep it in your bedroom where she can see you and feel safe. I am not an expert by any means but this is the advice that I have gotten and has been productive towards Holly's training. Once she is fully potty trained then I may consider her sleeping with me. But honestly I would be scared since she's so tiny and I move a lot. I think it's a personal choice but I feel like it could potentially be detrimental to her training. Good Luck.

| The first weeks i kept my girls in a babyplaypen next to my bed, i placed peepads on the one end of the playpen, and their bedding on the other end, it worked great while potty training them. After a few weeks of "dry nights" i let them sleep with us. |

| My anna sleeps with me, but my advice is do not allow your dog to sleep with you unless you are going to continue to do it forever! I cant go to bed without her now even if i tried she whines at the bed room door etc. and she does get lost in bed. last night she got stuck under the covers and started whining and crying til i got her out. so be prepared for things like that too. |

| We started letting Emma sleep with us around 5 or 6 months old, and now at just over a year old, she sleeps with us-RIGHT between us-every night. She thinks the bed is hers, and there is no going back at this point. With Milli, we put her in a crate next to my side of the bed at night. She peed on the bed twice before-not at night, but STILL! Since she's not reliably potty trained yet, we let her have some "cuddle time" right before going into the crate at bedtime and after she goes potty in the morning. That way, we don't miss out on the snuggling, but she's not in our bed all night!

| I'd say if you're a light sleeper it's totally okay, but if you are a heavy sleeper, I wouldn't do it. Chloe refuses to sleep by herself in her own bed (from day one lol - little monkey knew what she was doing ), but I'm a super light sleeper so it's okay. She snuggles into my neck or lays right on top of my head lol. Chloe wakes me up to pee at about 4am, every night. She's starting to sleep the whole night some nights, though. She has peed on the bed 2-3 times, so be ready for that - accidents happen

| I chose crate training..... when you start letting them sleep with you there is no turning back.... One benefit is when you have to be gone and someone is dog sitting for you that may not want to sleep with your dog.... their crate is their home and they are much more comfortable .... my son or daughter dog sits some... and they just take the crate to their house... Also I didn't want to take a chance of them wandering around the house while I am sleeping and getting into something that could hurt them... My 3 year old shih tzu sleeps on the bed when my husband is gone simply because I want her to alert me if she hears anything... she tends to remain much calmer while in the crate... I just feel better knowing they are safe .... the crates are right next to my bed... |

LOL It sure is...I don't know why it's 4am, but it's 4am EVERY night. Their little bladders must have alarm clocks lol It's funny though because right at 4am every night she JOLTS up like something bit her on the butt. She doesn't get up all calmly or anything, she's like a bat outta hell! LOL It seems to just hit her out of nowhere that she has to pee SO bad

| Meeka is going on 12 weeks old. We have only had her 2 weeks, she sleeps with us but that is just what my husband and I wanted. Every thing has been fine. I have to get up at four durring the week anyways so I let her out for potty then. But she has never bothered us in bed or anything. Over the weekend I was curious if she would wake me up at four to go out but she didnt until I made her go out at 8. Everything has been fine for us so far! |

| I have Ava sleep with us. Although while she was pottytraining we put her in the crate at night!! I was too worried about her going in our bed at night. Now though, I cannot imagine a night without her snugged up with me!!

| When I first got Keely she slept in her playpen with her bed on one end and her wee pads on the other until we got her potty trained. She's going on 4 months old now and within the last week she has been sleeping with us in the bed the whole night, before she would sleep with us till about 4am when she gets up to go potty and then she wants in her bed so I would put her back in her playpen. But now she sleeps the whole night with us and still wakes up at 4am to go pee, but it doesn't bother me at all. I would miss her if she wasnt in the bed with me. She sleeps right on top of my head.
