| Have you ever called off work for your pet? I don't mean called off and said you're sick, I mean actually called off and said your pet was sick? How many jobs or supervisors or customers for those self employed members would understand? I've had people call off saying their dog was sick in the past so I did it today. I've also had people call off for a few days after their ferret or dog died. After giving my two their medicine for one's leg and the others gland problem, I wanted to watch over them today so I called off. I kinda warned the employees yesterday that Kamari hurt her leg. So today I called and said she was still limping and I wanted to make sure they were ok. Hope they are not mad at me.

| I've done that before with no problems. Our dogs are our CHILDREN. Just as a mother would take off from work for her human child, so would I take off from work for my poochies!

| I wasn't gonna mention it at first, but since I talked about it yesterday at work, I figured I may as well. Others have taken off days for their animals so I kinda understand now.

| Yes I have called in and took a vacation day instead of lying and calling in sick. My boss understands because he's a dog lover also. Our dogs are our children afterall, right? |

| Well when i first got Rocky last year at my previous job my boss was so cool i got him on a Saturday but he was crying all night saturday and sunday so i called her and told her i wasnt able to come in on monday cause i hadnt slept all night cause of him she was so excited i got him she didnt mind. Then in the summer i live approximatley 30 min away from my job well that's how long my commute is into the city. One day in the summer i forgot to leave the A/C on and it was a hot day so i asked her if i can go home for lunch to turn it on and that i might be a little late coming back and she said that was fine anything for Rocky. When i mentioned him all the girls including my boss would chant his name. Rocky Rocky Rocky

But they are so little and I just can't leave them without knowing they are ok. My mom lives upstairs and checks on them, but not like I do. I'm LOL at them chanting Rocky, I bet they said Rocky is spoiled rotten. But they will never understand until they own a Yorkie! lol

| I've done it a few times.. the last was about a month ago when Kayah sounded like she was choking.. so I stayed up all night to make sure nothing happens to her.. called in.. told them what happened.. and told them that I was going to the vet.. didn't seem to mind

| I've never called in and told my boss I had to take the day off because a pet was sick - but I would in a heartbeat if Ferdinand was sick. I think my boss would be fine with it. Of course, I can work from home as well if I needed to and I know not everyone has that luxury. Now, if I forgot to turn on the A/C on a hot day, I don't know that it would go over very well if I told my boss I needed to go turn it on for my dog. I would still go home and do it, but I'd have to use that time as my lunch hour. Anything for our furkids, right?!
