| Help- Male Yorkie This is rather embarrassing but, Cocoa is 4 months old and he has been humping things a lot, including my leg...he was doing that tonight and I picked him up to say NO! and he had a full erection and it was very dark red and he was breathing really heavy...it took a few minutes to go back down. What does this mean?? Is it normal for his age? Should he be neutered? I appreciate all the help I can get! |

| hehehehehehe!!! sorry this is funny....same happens to me...I just make sure he has enough toys...It is normal but definitely your leg shouldn't be an option...I know some dogs do it even after they've been fixed... I can tell you I was shocked because he is my little angel |

| Rusty does it too.... it takes a few minutes to go down, he certainly gets a good rest while he waits. Anyways.... we have been trying to watch for it more lately and stop him but he does have his "special friend" and he doesn't do it to anything/one else. Whew!!!! You might try "Nah Ah" to get his attention and stop him each time or even a water bottle if he doesnt stop with Nah ah

| Yes, it is perfectly normal. Some start doing it at an early age while others start much later. And some never have a problem with it. I have two males, one is a yorkie, the other is a maltese and the only time they have ever humped anything was a female dog when she is in heat. I would say get your boy neutered as soon as you can. Until then, I would discourage all humping, I wouldn't even recommend giving him a toy for humping, it will just encourage the behavior.

| It's normal. It's funny when it happens here. In fact my 10 1/2 week pup that is only now 17 oz humps the side of the bed and he falls over because he is so tiny lol. He humps a blanky and I found him humping one of Cookie's plastic toy that is a Hotdog. Now imagine a plastic chewtoy hotdog that is bigger than my 10 week old puppy!
