| Puppy Pyodermas...need advice on skin issues PLEASE!! Ok so I went to the vet a few weeks ago because my baby had little sores all over him..didn't know if it was allergies or what and she said puppy pyodermas..(sp) which is a staph infection from scratching..she said not contagious to other animals or people...anyone had this diagnosed at the vet also? She gave me some little orange flavored drops to give him am and pm and some special shampoo. But I don't think it's working that well, he still has the little bumpies on him and scratches..what do I need to do? I don't want him uncomfortable..and are they sure this isn't contagious cause the work Staph scares the heck outta me!?! Please help...anyone! |

| From what I have read on this, it takes up to 30 days to heal. Servere pyodermas takes 6 to 8 weeks to heal. Give it time. It also said to give 2 to 3baths a week the 1st week. Second week 2 and so on. It helps to break up the scales so they heal faster. http://www.merckvetmanual.com this is a good site on this.
