| How much does it cost? Just wondering how much does it cost for the dog funeral in your state(s)? It cost us 1K to buried our "Pomeranian". I am living in California, SJ. |

| burial All we had to pay for was the plot...and it wasn't that much (I think just around $100). That paid for the spot of land and the headstone that they make for you. It wasn't really a "funeral", however we were able to be there when she was put into the ground and we could say whatever we wanted. The guy who runs the pet cemetary here is very nice and understanding and he gives you a packet of possible poems and such. I remember that it had the "Rainbow Bridge" in it. We had to provide our own "coffin". |

| I think believe a Pet Cemetary / Crematory should be available in every state. It should be offered through your vet or humane society. Smoke Rise Pet Cemetary, here in Texas, treats your babies as if they were human. They also conduct themselves just as if it was a human burial or cremation. When the arrangements are made, there is soft music playing, everyone is very quiet spoken and polite. Excellent service. You pick out the coffin or urn. When a person only has their four legged children as family, this type of service is priceless. |

| I dont know about a service or a plot, but around here they will cremate and give you the ashes in a nice urn, for $90.00.

| We lost our Yorkie last September and chose to have him cremated...it was $65.00 and he was returned to us in a small urn with a card attached. We move quite often so I couldn't see leaving him in the ground somewhere or even in a cemetary that we may never be able to visit again. If it's allowed he'll be burried with one of us when the time comes. |

unfortunatley at the service we had to re-open the coffin b/c the cemetary owner buries all the animals with there heads facing the north star (something about being able to find your way to heaven). We didn't know this ahead of time and didn't know where her head was. | |
