| Male or Female? I have been looking around for my perfect little yorkie but I was just wondering if anyone could tell me which would make a better pet, male or female?? Are there any differences? Do they have different temperaments, or personalities? |

| I don't think there's much of a difference as long as you get him/her neutered/spayed...Some people on here say that females are the sweetest, some people say that boys are the sweetest. I think it depends on the personality of the actual dog. I have a male yorkie so of course, I think he's the best, but I just recently got a female maltese, I think she's awesome too. My advice to you is to get the dog that you fall in love with regardless of male/female. Just get the one that melts your heart

| My male is more cuddly if he sees an empty lap it is his misson to fill it, the female is more independent. But both are extremely sweet. I agree, I think it is the individual personality . Tell the breeder what type of personality you are looking for and they should know which puppy would best suit you. |

| I agree with the others. Don't look for male or female, just get the puppy that speaks to your heart. I have both males and females. My male Scampers is such a cuddle bug and has a friendly personality and loves everyone. He loves laying in your lap and giving lots of kisses. I love all the female dogs that I have and they are all sweet and friendly but I have to say for the most part they aren't as cuddly as my male is, except for Destiny she won't leave my lap. I have 6 females and only one will lay in my lap. Oh and you can still put a bow in a boy's hair, I put bows in both of my males hair. I woulden't have it any other way, the look great with topknots and if you think about it, the yorkies in the show ring all wear bows and a majority of them are males. I just make sure they are boy colors like blue, black, etc. They also have cute bows and outfits made just for the boys.

| Thanks for the tip! I have heard that males are more cuddly than the females, and it appears that the boys tend to run at a much lower price...that's good to know that I can still put a bow in a boys hair, He He... |
