| Oliver trying to "Haulk-a-luugie"??? Quick Question At least once a day Oliver makes this snorting noise and it sounds just like he's trying to spit up some phlem. Is this common? Or worse: is this collapse trachea? (sp) Thank you!!

| My dog does it sometimes too...I think he just has a hairball or something ...he did 15 times one day and I took him to the vet..they said he may have a minor kennel cough but to have him rest it off because they didnt' want to give him antibiotics since he's so tiny...it went away on it's own but sometimes he still does the same hacking thing as for trachea (sp?)....see when he does it...if it's just randomly when he's calm, he probably just had to clear his throat...if it's when he gets really excited and starts having a hard time breathing, it's probably trachea problems. My friends dog had to get surgery for that. |

It never (that I can recall) happens after jogging or playing fetch but at weird times like before bed or in the middle of the night I wake up to him doing it for 20 seconds or so

| It may be kennel cough if it keeps going on...double check with your vet to make sure because it could lead to something more serious. |
