| Veterinary Pet Insurance - Review For anyone considering pet insurance, I just wanted to give a review of my first experience with VPI. Howie got sick after my mother fed him a large handful of yucky steak. He was vomitting and having diarrhea for 3 days. I finally took him to the vet and the bill was $222. Howie's only a year old and I've had insurance for him basically since I got him. It's $20/month. I really wasn't expecting to get anything back from the insurance but.... I got a check yesterday for $150.30!!! YAY! It's nice to know that the insurance really does help out if god forbid something really expensive went wrong!

Most everything i have heard on pet insurance is, you are better off to put your $20 a month in the cookuie jar, and then you'll have money if you need it. Just another point of view. Not meant to be insulting or mean.

| I had VPI and didn't like it but I'm glad you are reaping the benefits. I didn't like VPI because: They for one didn't cover everything and it got to be a hassle to send in claims after having to front the money and then waiting for the check. On top of that they never paid for all of it. I like my Vet's plan better. You pay once a month and then only pay a co-pay for every single routine visit, surgery, etc. It works more like people insurance. |

| I know that I'm not dilligent enough to put away $20/month in case of an emergency. I like knowing that if god forbid he gets really sick I have a back-up plan.

If it gives you a feeling of security then it's worth it. At least your baby was taken care of when he needed it and that's what is important.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have it and with Cali being so sick early on I am way ahead on the premium vs payment. With Pixie I hopefully won't need it much but with 3 dogs anything can happen and I preer to be covered in case.

| I also have pet insurance, and I wouldn't be without it. This claim was not exceptionally large, but it could have been. Putting 20 dollars a month away would be great if you never have a large claim; but with these little babies the claims can be really large. Congradulations on being prepared, and thank God your baby is fine.

| Plus, I heard they don't cover LP, and with our babies, that's a pretty big deal.

| i heard pet insurance doesnt cover alot of things and is a waste of money so i took out a credit card just for martini's vet bills and clothes, etc...i rather pay off a credit card then give money for something that wont even cover much...ive heard from numerous people that its not worth it

| I have VPI for my boy. I am planning to also insure our new girl, Mochi. I also don't like VPI. Kimchee got bitten by another dog in Aug 2006, we spent about $300 and of course, I submitted the claim. Guess what....I got a check of about $200 after ONE FULL YEAR. Well, at least I got some money back. Anyone knows of any pet insurance company which also insure LP?
