| yorkie's breath still stinks... what should i do??? please help!! hi everyone! i got my yorkie 2 months ago from someone who couldnt take care of him and he is 8 years old. his breath really smelled and the vet told us he has periodontal disease. so we took him for a cleaning, they removed 3 teeth they said were rotten, and now he stopped smelling, everything was great. its been a month and now all of the sudden his breath smells bad again. i dont know what to do! i brush his teeth with the dog toothpaste almost every day, he chews the greenie sticks... what else can i possibly do? they said cleanings are necessary once a year... but what should i do for the next 11 months? the smell is pretty unbrearable! does anyone else have this problem? i would appreciate any advice/info, since i am new at yorkies. thanks so much!!! |

| Yes. PetzLife for Teeth has worked WONDERS on Hootie & Hobbs' breath. I only buy the gel and I put a little in their mouths every night before bed. The website may say that the gel is only good when using it to brush their teeth, but this is not true. Just get it in their mouth anyway that you can and it will work it's wonders. You can get it here with free shipping and I know a fellow YorkieTalker, Kathryn V, sells it on her online store www.beyondspoiled.com. Just be consistent and if used regularly he should never need a professional teeth cleaning again. |

Also you may want to check the gums for gingivitis. I don't know if your Vet treated that as he likely had it if he required teeth removal. I'll have to look up the name of the stuff that you treat it with, it is just a wash that you use for 2 weeks only.

| Now that his teeth are cleaned from the vet continue brushing everyday. Like the YT'ers said above Petzlife is great. It comes in gel and spray. I use the spray on Buddy 2x wkly. I brush his teeth every day and after I give him a biscuit that is all natural with parsley in it for fresh breath. I got it from a pet store. It's called "Brite Whites". Hope we were able to help. | I have just started using Petzlife. I got the gel and the spray. I'm hoping it makes a difference. I've read a lot of good things about it. I have been using it for less than a week, and I've already noticed a difference in Ollie's breath. |

giving this. It will work during the night with the silvia in his mouth. Brush in the morning again. You'll find this really does a great job. Carol & Buddy

| Sure! Still use this regular toothpaste and then put some of the gel in his mouth right before he goes to bed. Remember no food or drink 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after application. |

| I was going to suggest Petzlife as well! Zoe's breath is much more pleasent with them. Mints don't really work for her. We sell Petzlife at our store www.sassypup.net for an awesome discount for the individual gel and a great package deal. Besides helping with breath, it will prevent tartar buildup and staining. Try the combo of spray in the am and gel in the evening. I guarantee you will love this product! If you put in an order, you will get it within 2-3 business days! We also include a brochure with really clear instructions on how to use this product and alternative ways to use the item if they don't like brushing. Jennie |

| ok, i need our opinions.. i have a two year old yorkie who's always had bad breath.. i've checked her teeth and no plaque or build up and the vet laughs at me when i said i wanted to bring her in for a teeth cleaning, i've changed her food, but that didnt work. her breathe does smell like her food, only with sewer mixed in.... do you think petzlife might work for us??? you can smell her coming up on the couch when she sits next to you-it's so sad... it's starting to affect how my daughter treats her |
