|  My puppy smells bad! hi... you may know me as the new member asking for help with her 4 month old puppy that I got with sarcoptic mange from the breeder. Well she is still on her meds for that.. and thank you all of you have listened to my whining. My husband doesnt want to seem to listen to the vet, and he has been playing/handling her every night after my daughter goes to sleep... okay... here's my question though... Went to the vet last week because she had bad dandruff. I wanted to make sure it Wasnt WALKING Dandruff! it wasnt thank god... but he gave me some supplements with fish oil.. I gave her 1/2 of one on Thursday night, and god she smells horrible now like a fish!!!!! Tonight's Sunday night, and we have given her her medicated bath for the mange, as well as the 'off" nights, giving her a lavender bath with puppy shampoo. As soon as she goes outside and comes in she stinks again! Does anyone know how long that fish smell lasts? I quit giving them to her. I cant have a dog that smells like that! I just read something about a "missing link" or something you can get. What is this and where can I get it???? THanks so much!  |

| Why do you give her a medicated shampoo followed by lavender shampoo ? If the little one a medicated one , I would stop the other because the lavender one stop the effect of the medication . |

| Well her medicated shampoo is only twice a week. So on the days she doesnt get that, I used the puppy lavendar to take away the fish smell. Probably not a good idea huh? I just cant stand the smell of the fish. Although it is a little better today because I havent given her anymore. wonder how long it will take to get out of her system? I will search for the missing link. |

| I think I would stop bathing her in between and just use the medicted. If it is making her well them the smell is a small price to pay. I had a dog with mange, and the mange itself made her smell bad. all the dead skin I suppose. But I would not give her anything extra as long as she is being treated by the vet. You could try maybe a spray, like Crazy dog, baby powder spray. |

| Well she had been on meds for the mange, and she didnt smell bad the whole time until Thursday when I gave her that stupid fish supplment... ewwwwwww I will definitely go in search of crazy dog or missing link at petsmart on Tuesday. I doubt they are open New Year's Day |
