Peanut is now 13 weeks old. He has one ear up and the other down. While this is very cute, I have heard that the ear can be taped to help it stand up. Any advice on how to do this? THANKS!

Not uncommon at 13 weeks for his ears not being up solid. Shave the hair all the way down, on both sides. Buy some Breathe-Rite Strips Med/Large, Duo Surgical/Eyelash Glue (one in the same). Cut a strip in half, remove the clear plastic adhesive, apply a thin coat of surgical glue, with the biggest part down place in the inside of the ear as far down as you can get it, in the center of the ear. Hold until and press until the glue dries. It will come off on it's own, if the ear stays up you're home free, if not re-apply.

Remember and don't panic, the ears on some puppy's will go up and down during their teething period.

Another way is to take about a five inch piece of tape, pinch the base of the ear together, then wrap the piece of tape around the ear. It has worked best for us to put the center of the tape in the front of the ear then wrap the ends around the sides and in the back of the ear have the sticky ends of the tape stick together.

i thought layla would always have floppy ears.. which was ok.. i didn't care.. but after teething they went up.. and this week one has decided to flop! it gives her personality!

Thanks everyone! This might sound crazy, but I taped the ear last night and it amazed me first of all that he didn't bother it. What really shocked me is that this morning we took the tape off (I used cloth tape so I wouldn't pull the hair) and I was going to retape, but the ear is standing up!! I guess it just needed a little push!

Great News! If it stays up for a couple of days.....you may only have to tape again when permanent teeth come in, not likely, but a possibility
