| 1st HAIRCUT I'm about to give Chewy her first haircut. Shes almost 8 months, its about time. Shes starting to look like a lion...her neck hair sticks out to the sides. Being as i've never even seen a dog get a haircut, i need lots of advice. Any tricks you guys learned from trimming ur pups would be really appreciated. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | This web site helped me. http://www.ytca.org/grooming_clips1.html Cut less then you think you want at first, and take before and after pictures. Nancy |

| Are you trimming her yourself? If you are unsure what to do, maybe you should take her to a groomer the first time and watch and then do it yourself next time.

| I was going to post pictures of Peanut's first haircut when I saw your post. Here are some pictures of Peanut's new do. I really wanted to leave it long, but he hate to have a topknot and now that it is cut I love it!! Maybe it will help with your little ones 1st haircut. |

| I have the grooming dvd from this site: http://crownroyalyorkies.com/ It is really very well done and informative, but I'm not sure I'll ever have the nerve to clip the boys myself. I love Peanut's cut too! Did you cut it yourself? That's a picture I'd like to take to a goomer to show how I want mine done. I thought I wanted to let Archie and Willie's hair grow long, but I've given up that idea. Archie will not sit still long enough to comb the hair on his head and he took the bands I managed to get on Willie's topnot twice. Thankfully, he had no interest in the bands after he got them out of Willie's hair, but I'm not going to chance that again. |

| Awww Vicky he's ADORABLE!!! Did you trim him yourself?? Thanks everyone for your advice. We just got done....it took exactly one hour to trim and bathe. Its a little uneven on her neck which i will fix up during her bath next week but for the most part i did a better job than i thought i would. It took giving her 8 treats and my dad holding her down but she wasnt moving around as much as she did the first few times i bathed her so maybe shell get used to it in a few times. I think shes a little mad at me right now but i dont blame her. If someone used me as a guinea pig to practice their grooming skills i'd be PO'ed too!! hehe |
