| Call to the different airlines to see what their policies are with carry-on pets. I read somewhere in one of the threads that you must have proof of vaccinations with you. But I do know that some airlines are more pet friendly than others and some charge more than others. Have a wonderful trip, Teri

| Im actually flying with Sophie from california to NC Via American Airlines for Christmas. 80 dollars each way not including connections less than 4 hours long. I made reservations to have her in cabin with me. It says you dont need a health cert for AA, but im getting one anyway. Carrier should be no more than like 9 inches tall, 23 in. long with two or more mesh windows.. and other a few other things. I plan to get a soft sided sherpa carrier, I know someone who flew with it just fine. Anyway, thats all i know.=)

| We frequently fly with Toto ... United has decided to charge her $85 each way for December this year! We have found that it depends on the attendants whether they will let you take them from under the seat, etc. They will just smile and say, "regulations say .... but I didn't see or tell you it is OK"!!! Then again, the last time I flew with Toto, the "butt" attendant wouldn't even let me give her a drink of water!! On another flight through a terrible storm, a wonderful attendant told me to take her from the bag and hold her in my arms!! So, it all depends! I would advise anyone flying with their pet, especially during the Holidays ... bring extra "supplies" for your baby in your carry-on bag, wee wee pads, food, treats, dry blankie, etc., just in case. More than once we have encountered long delays or cancellations due to overbooked flights, weather, mechanical problems, etc. Just be prepared .... most airlines operate according to "Murphy's Law"!!! Good luck!!
