Ears...up My Yorkie is just over 4 months old and one of his ears has stood up but the other one is still only half up...I don't remember my other yorkies ears doing this and just wondered if it's just too early for them both to be up or if something is wrong..should they be massaged? thanks

Zoey's ears flopped off and on until they got done teething, or I know you can tape them. Also shaving the tips of ears 1/3 helps alot so they dont weight down.

Yes, massage her ears and also make sure that you keep the hair shaved off the top 1/3 of the ear. The hair sometimes weighs the ears down and prevents them from standing up. However, it is not uncommon for a yorkie to have one ear up and one down, even at adulthood. Take a look at my sister's yorkie, Sophie. She is 4 years old and has one ear up and one down.

| I had the same problem with Piccolo. But after the groomer shaved his ears 1/3 off the top, his left ear stood up. I was also told to give him 1tsp of cottage cheessee every day.

Thanks for your replies...I think it's because with my first yorkie I clipped the long fur from around his ears but with this one I haven't...mainly because he's alot more fiesty and I'm trying to gain his trust...will have to do it though
