| bordetella Im not expert by any means, but I always thought that Bordetella was for kennel cough and if a dog is not taken to a kennel to be boarded or in a kennel with any other dogs, they do not need it. I guess when they are a puppie maybe they would but after that I dont think they need it. "just my opnion" not expert advice. Good luck |

| I would not be getting Bordetella if I wasn't showing my dogs. It really is only for dogs that are boarded or going to be around a lot of other dogs... |

| I do believe my vet said it is every 6 months also. My chi and pom have had it a couple of times when they were boarded, but I won't be boarding them ever again(that didn't work out well gor my chi, she hated it) so I guess they won't need it any more.

| I asked our vet about this yesterday and told her that my boyz don't get boarded and they really aren't around other dogs so what would be the purpose? She said that bringing them into the office would be a possible exposure risk and so would a grooming place if another dog had been in with kennel cough. She also said they've been seeing a few cases lately but they will go out to the car to treat or even make a house call so the risk of exposure to others would be minimal. I didn't get Riley the Lepto or Bordatella shot and they're really pushing the Lepto now. I'll have titers done before their next set of shots to see if they even need them. |
