Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | My Beautiful, Sweet, Dainty... Darling Yorkie EATS cat poo! Can we say "eeewwwwwwww"? What on earth possess her to do this? It's a most disgusting habit, and I have to keep an extra close eye on whatever she's investigating when we're out. I know she isn't hungry - she eats a species-appropriate diet, and eats to fill.

| My darling Yorkies use to do it to...when I mentioned it to the vet she said that if I could find a way to stop it to let her know because her dogs do it too! I did change the cat food and now they don't do it. so go figure. Kinda makes you think twice about the kisses they give you. |

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | Thanks everyone! But, my Mozart dosn't seem to have the slightest interest in 'recycled' cat food! Wonder why some do, and some don't? It just aggravates me that I don't even have a cat, and they come poo in my yard, which entices Abigail to eat, and then I have to wash her mouth out! <shrug>

| You are definitely not alone. I used to catch Roxy sitting in the cat box, face covered in litter with that "What? I didn't do it?" look. So I put the box up out of her reach. Now, she figured out where the cats go when they're outside, so she digs it up there and brings it inside and hides it for later. If I am outside with her, she will lure me to the other side of the yard by pushing her ball and kicking her feet which means play soccer, then she hauls butt to the cat area and starts digging like maddog and grabs a chunk and runs between the fence and tree where I can't get her. She even follows the cats around with her nose in their butts - I guess she likes fresh as well as stale. Sorry, it is so funny to watch. Looks like an animal train and the cat doesn't seem to mind. I do hope she outgrows it.

| Cat poo can be toxic to dogs because they tend to eat birds, mice, etc. and it can have a bacteria called Toxoplasmosis (same bacteria why ob-gyns advise pregnant women not to clean litter boxes). Of course, dog poo can also contain parasite eggs and bacteria. |
