| What age do they come into heat? I have asked this question before on another thread, but not many responses, so am going to try again. I am really concerned that Abbey will go into heat before I get her spayed. I know it is much better for their health to be spayed before that happens. With my last yorkie she was spayed right at 6 months, but she was larger than Abbey and weighed about 5 pounds at that time. The same for my toy poodle. But Abbey is 5 1/2 months and weighs almost 3 pounds. The vet wants to wait until she weighs more. He said wait until 7 months. He said she "probably" will not start her cycle before then. So..what do you all think. What is the usual date they go into heat. Maybe most of the people here had their babies spayed before that happened, so they don't really know. Thanks ahead of time for any information. Ellie |
