| Oliver's Progress- I'M AM RELENTLESS!! Hey All- I posted the other day about Oliver's barking problem. I have taken the advise from the thread and applied it. He will not be trained to "speak" but I am VERY relentless in saying "quiet, goodboy" and petting him or giving treats. About every two minutes or so. HAHA SO far I have had two outbursts from him but he was quiet again within seconds. And at other times when I expected him to bark I just calmly said "quiet, goodboy" and he moved on to play or to something else. without barking! I know i shouldn't count my chickens before they hatch, (or however those pesky saying go) but I'm really hopeful (and relentless!!!!!!!) and because we live in an apartment I'm really counting on this to work. Thanks for all your suggestions.

| it's been only two days and it's SUCH a turnaround. He has always been quick to learn but I thought it would have taken longer. He is suuuuuch a goodboy! In situations where he would normally bark I just remind him to be quiet in a calm voice and I say goodboy goodboy. Other times when he is just relaxing I do it again to enforce quiet at all times. ANd I love him and pet him and give him small treats. It seems to REALLY be working! I'm so excited. Thank you for your comment Firstyorkie
