| Buttercup saved the night How weird is this? Yesterday night I posted a thread saying how Buttercup started barking. Okay so like at 1am he ran out of my room and into the kitchen and started barking like crazy. I said "be quiet and go back to bed" but he wouldn't. He ran out the backyard through his doggie door, ran back in, and started biting on my pajamas insisting that I go outside with him. I didn't know what he wanted, I just thought he wanted to play so I picked him up and went back to bed. After we were in bed, he started growling and he bit me (not literally a bite) and ran to the kitchen again. When I tried to pick him up again, he ran outside and started barking and then that was when I heard 2 gunshots. I immediately called the police. They arrived in about 20 minutes (yes, they're slow in Houston). They searched my neighbor's home and my backyard as well. They found my neighbor in her entertainment room with one shot to her leg. She's doing great now and is recovering. Who'd ever thought yorkies were so smart? |

| WOW that is crazy...Well they do say never ignore a dogs bark!! They absolutely know when something is wrong. I learned that the hard way...I use to have Min pin and one night he was barking and I kept telling him to be quiet and he kept barking..finally I was able to calm him down .... at that time I was single and lived alone with my kids. The next morning I woke up just to find that someone broke into my car. I don't live in that area anymore and ever since then when my babies bark at night I always get up and look out my window just to make sure there is no one out there and of course now I live with my fiancee so I feel safe. Your baby just discovered he can bark and now he will not stop...lol |

| What kind of devine intervention is that? Buttercup learns to bark the day before he needed to communicate with you. That is pretty awesome. He is definitely a very intelligent little guy. Lucky you. And I agree with Saleswoman, he deserves something extra special for that. I hope everything is OK with your neighbor. Bless you Buttercup. You are a very special pup.

| Wow...Buttercup is amazing! Why was your neighbor shot? Had she done it herself or had someone else broken into her house?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | OMG ! Sounds like where I live.....GOOD BOY BUTTERCUP !! (but...I'm glad they didn't decide to shoot at him too....you think it was her ex ? WHY do men DO that kind of thing ? When we had someone trying to break into my neighbors - her dogs alerted her too - then MY girls went nuts....by the time I figured out they were barking for a really good reason the cops were here - Next thing I knew - they were taking a guy down right on the other side of the fence - We were standing there watching just 6 feet away lol - The Spy Girls had LOTS to spy on that day I hope your neighbors leg isn't too messed up. What a scary thing for her |
