| what can i do this is making me angry I have a 1 year old yorkie mix. The main problem is him going in thwe crate. It is only small enough for him to turn around and lay down in. When he goes in there he crys for us to clean it. Thats how we know he went. I clean the crate about 4 or 5 times a day! We tried confining him to a small room and he went in there also. When he is in the house he runs to the door and the second he gets there he either poops or pees. So we know he is somwhere heading on the right track. he just wont wait for us. I mean if anyone can help me with his crate problem or suggest anything i will be grateful. If you need more info please let me know because i have tried books, training classes, and i havnt made my decision about calling a animal behaviorist. I mean anything to get us on the right track is great. He does not go in th crate if he is home alone, only when he sees someone. Such as in the morning when i get up he sees me and the second i get out of the bathroom he went poo and pee in the crate. Someties i really need to use the restroom before i take him out. Please help me!! |

| How often are you taking him out when you're at home? Maybe try taking him out more frequently (even if he is not crying to be taken out) and see if that helps. |

| man I don't don't know.... it almost sounds like he goese because he is excited? i had a Lab mix that did that and it drove me nuts... he wuld pee and RUN when he was excited for any reason... Have you had your vet check to make sure there isn't a medical problem going on? You may hate hearing this but I would set my alarm and get up in the middle of the night to take him out and see if he still went in the morning... becasue he could be having trouble holding it through the night... but if you get up like at 3:00 AM and then he still goes in the crate in the morning... It would apear it was something else like excitement or something. Don't get angey, it can get worked out...

| If you rule out anything medical...and he is peeing and pooping on the way out the door then it sounds like you need to take him out more frequently. I had a cocker and they are notorious for excitment peeing but it usually is just a tinkle..they dont let it all out...so if he is letting it all out it probably isnt excitment peeing and just realllly has to go. Try more frequent trips and see how that works for you!! I let my dogs out hourly..but Im home during the day...I let my pup out every 30 mins for a quick pee and poo if need be.. You must be very frustrated but dont give up!! Dawn |
