| What do you use for treating ticks? I am soooo upset! This is the THIRD time in two weeks that Mojo has gotten seed ticks (those itty bitty little ticks that look like specs of dirt). We have treated our yard several times and have treated our outside dogs. Mojo is on K9 Advantix (switched from Frontline a few years back because Advantix works on misquitoes and Frontline doesn't). Anyway, I need help!!!! What can I do......it seems like neither Frontline nor Advantix keeps the ticks away or kills them. It seems like we need something else for our yard. AND what else can I use on our big dogs.....they too are on Advantix, they were a Preventive collar (from the vet) and we have "dipped" them recently too. I heard ticks were bad this year, but we have just noticed them in the last two weeks...........YUCK!!!! Any thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated! I am just frustrated because it seems like nothing is working......and we pay a lot of all this stuff too!!!!

| You may need to have your yard sprayed. When it's actively raining, it is a good time to put granules down, but it's kind of dry now.

| Yeah, we spread out the granules about a week ago....we have had rain for awhile. I think we are going to spread it out again, since it is calling for more rain next week. I am just frustrated with the products we have used! You would think that spending that much money on Frontline or Advantix, that it will keep ticks away.....okay, I know that it doesn't "repel" ticks and ticks will still get on your animals......but, geez..........it's almost like it has no affect on them!

| We've had gazillions of ticks this year. We bought guineas about a month ago and they help some, no doubt about it. We also use Frontline Plus on our bigger dogs who have the run of the 56 acres. When they come inside, first thing I do is a tick check. I still miss a few but get most of them. I have found a few dead ones on the dogs and I assume Frontline got them. It takes 24 to 48 hours to work. I wish there was something that would work in 1 second.!! I've had them on my head (attached) this year. My husband has had 3 of them sucking his blood! Supposedly they have to be on for 2 or 3 days before they can transfer their bacteria or whatever. I hate them! |

| I have heard about getting the Guineas for helping with ticks and snakes and such, but we have too many other wild animals and big outdoor dogs (that hate for anything to be in the yard), so I don't think they would last very long here! The odd thing is, we have not gotten one tick off of us this year and we walk right beside Mojo! Isn't that crazy?! My Dad told me that if it was strong enough to kill a tick right away, it would be too potent to have on your dog! So true.....but it was be nice for there to be an actual tick/flea repellent....... We might swtich back to Frontline Plus and see if we like it better. I just worry about the diseases that misquitoes carry now too, that is why I liked Advantix.........
