| How Old? Guss is 6 months old now. I was just wondering how old he has to be before starting to stud. My parents have a female that lives with me and Gus, so I was wondering how old a male yorkie has to be in order to stud. Thanks! Sam! |

| I believe they have to be atleast 8 to 9 months old in order for the pups from a litter to be registered. Although in my opinion they should be atleast a year old before they are used as a stud. Most good breeders wait until they are atleast a year old. Alot of males don't get the hang of it until then anyways.

| you can also go to the AKC website to check the specifics and to see how many breedings per year/lifetime require DNA testing. |
