| Neutered today! Just got a call from the vet. Murphy has had his procedure done this morning and did well. I knew he would - and we weren't worried at all. She did find two top baby teeth and pulled them. Interestingly, I delayed his neutering until he was almost a year old - so that he would loose his baby teeth. Well - it worked for most of them - except for the last two. She said these two teeth were very hard to pull - and that's why he hadn't lost them - and he probably wouldn't have. So, I'm glad that's taken care of. I just wanted to post this because so many of you are so nervous about taking your dogs in for neutering. Don't be. I wasn't and it worked out fine just like I expected. Carol Jean |

| You are so lucky you are so calm. I had my little guy done on Friday and I was sick to my stomach all day. I was so nervous. He is 7 mths old and also had to get 2 teeth pulled on top. He didn't bounce back for a couple of days because he refused to eat or drink. Poor little guy was getting so weak. I'm just so relieved the surgery is over. He was tormenting his 2 sisters today when I went home for lunch so I know he is finally feeling better. Do you get to pick him up tonight or is he staying over night? Does he have stitches and if so, how many? |

| It's nice to hear such a calm, positive spin on this surgery for a change! lol! I'll admit, I was one of those people - terrified about having Oscar neutered and he came through just fine, even with 14 teeth pulled!

| I am so happy that your little guy made it through surgery with flying colors! Hobbs was neutered about 6 months ago and I was a nervious wreck!!!!! Now I have to get Hootie spayed in a few weeks. I am again a nervous wreck! I'll save this thread and come back to it for support during that time! |

| Me again. I picked up Murphy, and he could hardly keep his eyes open on the way home. When we came in the house - he did run over and say "hello" to his friend, "my Bichon." Then he drank some water. Then he wanted to eat something --anything!!! He was hungry. Now for the past couple hours, he has been snoozing away. I'm glad - because that's exactly what he needs. To be sure - when anyone has an anesthetic (you or your dog) -- you're bound to want to sleep for "just a while longer." I see that one of your little dog's had 14 teeth pulled -- Wow! That's a mouthful, isn't it? But - anyway - I guess I have had so many dogs and cats spayed and neutered in my lifetime that I've gotten over worrying about it.... I have never had any problems and only very very very rarely have I ever heard of anyone else having any problems - and the change that it will happen is so very small. You know what they say - "Don't borrow trouble." 99% of the things we worry about in life are things that never happen..........which means we do an awful lot of worrying for nothing. Carol Jean |

| I am glad it all went well for you both. I was not worried either except for the fact that he would be feeling alone and in a cage.

| I don't think Murphy spent much time feeling alone --- I can tell you for sure that after the procedure and all the way home --- he was feeling "sleepy." He was so cute all the way home curled up and comfortable in his card seat with his little eyes only half open. When we got home, he did run up and kiss his best friend, drank a lot of water, and definitely wanted something to eat -and then he ran and jumped in his bed and slept the day away. Not bad at all................ Carol Jean |
