| Swimming Yorkies? On saturday when we were at the park with friends, we took the dogs down to the river so the larger dogs could cool off. We were all waiting to see how Cairo and my hubby's minpin, Tucker, would react to the water as it was their first time. Tucker put one paw in and backed right up deciding that it was way tooo cold. I figured this was exactly what Cairto would do. NOPE!! She dove right in!!! My little 5 month, 4 pound yorkie decided to go for a swim in a freezing cold river!! She loved it!! I had to reel her in with ther leash. Of course she started to shake right away so I wrapped her up in her sweater and my jacket, and she was just fine (I had to bath her again as soon as we got home though, yuck!) And when we went back to the park last night, she tried to go in again!!! I kept her on a very tight leash this time, so she didn't have a chance. Does anyone else have a swimming yorkie?

| How funny! Does she enjoy getting a bath? Maybe you should fill the tub with enough water for her to go for a little swim every once in a while! I don't know if Macie would enjoy swimming or not... she doesn't really like getting a bath, but she sure does love running through a mud puddle!! |

| I put Chachi in the bathtub to get him used to water. We have a sailboat that is our home away from home in the summer. I want him to be able to get in the water to cool down because it gets real hot. He does okay so far, he does swim at least.

| I am hoping Bella likes to swim as when we go on vacation my parents live on a lake and we spend all day at the beach or on the boat. I am trying to get her used to the tub, she doesn't wiggle as much now but she doesn't exactly like it either. Does Cairto love the bathtub too?

| Asia does not like baths (good thing I'm bigger than her). but I keep having to get onto her for playing in her water dish. She make such a mess. I got her a small pool to let her play in. Have not tried it yet. Maybe this weekend. |

| That's great that your yorkie swims!! I LOVE it when yorkies do the same things that all the big dogs do. They're not just little lap dogs...they fetch, they growl, they jump (mine goes real high), they climb, they chase.... I've taken my Zoey to the "beaches" here on Michigan Lake, and she doesn't seem to know what to do. She seems afraid of the waves and barks at it when they approach her! I did try to fill up the bathtub once, and I swear she swam for a second, but pretty much jumped right out. She's definitely not a swimmer! |

| I have a Swimming Yorkie My full grown male Artie loves to swim, when we lived in Florida, he used to jump into the pond they looked more like swamps. He would dive off the bank before I had a chance to stop him I was always scared of Alligators or other critters eating him? I used to take him Body Surfing at CoCoa Beach too. When we were recently visiting in California, he went floating with me on an air mattress in the middle of Lake Shasta. When I am at the Pool he will also try to go swimming in there too. I think they either love it or hate it? |

| I'm not sure if Saffron likes to swim or not but I bought a life jacket for her to use with me in our pool. (Unless she hates it in which case that will be the end of her swiming career.) |
