its funny for the longest time snickers wouldnt lie on her back for me when i held her or any other time - the vet suggested i get her to do that (this is when i was having the trouble with biting) to establish the "alpha"
well i did and she does and now she gets to a point where she just lies on her back and looks at me expectantly looking for the belly rub...
lol and she isnt picky either she plopped on my BF's lap the other day and just immediately rolled over, legs up in the air and all spread out and waiting for her belly to be rubbed!
lol are they all like this? its the cutest thing and oh-so-presumptious of her lol i love it

Many apparently do. My first yorkie, Bridget, would spread em for anyone anytime she thought she would get a tummy rub LOL. But, my new little one, Abbey, doesn't seem to care much. She is a little more independent. Maybe because she is not the only fur baby in the house, where Bridget was the 'one and only'. It is cute, tho and shows she is trusting and expects everyone to love her.

gracie loves her belly to be rubbed! i tell her roll over let me rub your belly and she does lol shell stay there until i quit and still wants more belly rubbing lol !

They are so cute when they do that. Roxy does it and if she happens to be laying on her side and doesn't want to roll over, she will just lift her top front and back legs so I can do a belly rub. How can we reprimand them when they misbehave, when they keep doing this stuff?

Mitzi loves her belly rubs and is in Yorkie heaven when she gets even belly blows! She also kinda makes a bow and keeps her little butt up to get some butt-rubs.... how to resist!

Gracie absolutely LOVES getting her belly rubbed. She flops on her back, looks at me and wags her nubbin of a tail. I tell her that, "I don't wanna see your NINNIES!", and she thinks it's all fun and games!

I rub her belly and at times, give her raspberries on her belly, too!

No, not ALL yorkies do this. Debbie NEVER rolls over to have her belly rubbed. She prefers a good hiny scratching!

Our Bitsy does this anytime anywhere there is someone to accommodate her with a belly rub!!! Usually tell her "Don't wanna see your "Stuff""

All I have to do is say, "rub your belly" in a certain voice and lilt, and they are on their backs with feet in the air!

Hallie is such a belly rub little monster! She has to have her belly rubbed before bed and first thing in the morning (and all throughout the day). She will put her paw on my face, look at me, and roll over with her head on my pillow saying "mama I need my belly rubbed before we get out of bed" Simon isn't much of a belly rub kinda guy, he only likes it when he's really sleepy!

I've learned though that I can tell if Hallie likes someone b/c she will go to them and roll over for a belly rub.

She hates for me to try to put her on her back. Like someone mentioned above me, I guess it's the whole alpha thing.

It's so funny my dog's the same way. Tito will turn over on his back and look at me expecting a belly rub and then closes his eyes with his tounge sticking out. It's adorable and hilarious!!!
