| yorkies & s**tzus? Hi, I'm new to this site and don't have a Yorkie yet. I really really want one but right now i have an overweight shi tzu lol he's like 20lbs, no lie. And I was just wondering if it would be ok to have both of them in the same house? Do Yorkies get jealous of other dogs? Are they good with other dogs? I'm also scared that since they are so small and my dog is so big he might hurt him. |

| i got another yorkie about 6 weeks ago and he gets along fine with my yorkie i already had they are the bigger yorkies and if you get a standar size or bigger yorkie they should be fine but all dogs are different and have different personalitys it may take some time for them to get use to eachother |

| Just ask the breeder for a bigger yorkie. Everyone wants the smaller ones so you might even get a deal My friend has yorkies and shih-tzus and they always seemed to get along fine.

| Maybe you could just get a bigger yorkie. If you don't already know a breeder, someone is selling a bigger one on the "My Yorkie" forum that is just adorable! I have a friend at work who has two Shi Tzu's and hers weigh 18 lbs. and 22 lbs. lol |

| Loki's about 10, maybe 11 pounds. Same thing, he's super skinny but he has a long and tall body that is no not yorkielike, but even with floppy ears he sure LOOKS like a yorkie! I just tell people he's 1/2 teddy bear. I still think 10 pounds is REALLY small. :-) He's tiny compared to all his friends at his doggie daycare.

| Yorkies and Shih Tzu's I have a shih-poo (12 pounds) and yorkie (7 pounds) I got the shih-poo at 12 weeks and my yorkie was 1. I've always heard as long as you get the second one as a pup, that you can socialize them without too many problems. My shih-poo eats like a horse. He eats way more than my yorkie boy. The yorkie isn't as lovey dovey to the shih-poo as he would like, he doesn't like to sleep side by side or cuddle up with him (only me.) But they have a lot of fun together. It's been a year this week. I'll definately always have 2 in the future.

| One of my neighbor's down the street has the cutest little shih-tsu named Zoe and her and Kacee just love each other and play so nice together. Their shih-tsu isn't that big, though.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I have a cocker spaniel - Tessa - she's 27 lbs. She LOVES the girls and they love her. IT's really funny - they'll tag team her and she makes these monster noises and the yorkies practically squeal with laughter. She's Very gentle Is your shi tzu good with other dogs ? |

| I have my yorkie in obedience classes and there's a s**tzhu in the class and they LOVE LOVE LOVE each other.. they look like one big ball of fur rolling around on the floor when they play. Sometimes we even have to sit across the pen from each other so the dogs will concentrate in class!!!

| My neighbors from down the street have a shih tzu who is about 15 pounds. Nikko, who's 6.5 pounds just loves him and they get along great. they get so happy when they see each other. I think your little guys would get along just fine.
