| For me, it is: 1. Face 2. Ears 3. Color 4. Coat 5. Health falls somewhere in here after I get over the initial looks. 6. Temperement 7. Bloodlines 8. Cost There are other things that factor in, but that's usually my first criteria.

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | when I first set out to get a Yorkie, I was Yorkie illiterate. I just knew they were cute and I wanted one soooooooo bad that I was willing to do almost anything to get her, Kloey (RIP) With Lillie I was more aware of the breed and knew a lot more (thanks to YT) I think the most important, is the breeder. Then comes Health and then looks, and if you have a great breeder, that breeder will produce to you a healthy and great looking Yorkie that has a nice full coat, short legs, small ears and a small snout. |

| Well, I actually didn't pick her, my mom did, but I can tell you what she was looking for (which is exactly what I would have looked for had I done it myself). 1. Breed (she knew I wanted a Yorkie)...duh 2. Sex (wanted a prissy little girl...except I got my tomboy) 3. (well...this should probably go higher than three). Health...her vet is the vet for the parents & he said they're the healthiest Yorkies that he's ever seen. We really trust him, so that really made Mom feel better. 4. Size (she was the smallest female in her litter & my mom wanted a small one because of MY size) 5. Money...because it was the breeder's first time, they got a pretty good deal 6. Temperament (Sadie was the calmest out of the bunch every time Mom went to see her...except for when they picked her up...then she was WILD)

| Well the first thing i look for is health and breeder, then for me the most important thing is character, i love a mixture of cute and mishevious rolled into one. im not too fussy about appearance,as long as they are close to the breed standard as there is no point having a beautiful yorkie with no personality or character |

Knowing that I do now, I would want to know the breeder, I want to know the size and temprament of the parents and the general health of both of them and their past litters. When I get another, I want another female and I want her to be approximately the same size of Sissy so she doesn't get hurt by a much bigger dog. Obviously, there is no guarantee there. I definitely don't want one smaller than Sissy!! Color doesn't matter to me.

LOL that sounds like what you'd look for in a husband! LOL I'd say personality is really important. If the parents are nervous your dog will be nervous. Yorkies should have that SPARK that their ratter ancestors had which made them want to go down rat holes! There's nothing like a proud little yorkie prancing round the house with their "prize" - usually a toy rather than a mouse!

| Mine was that he was under $1,000, within driving distance from the Philadelphia area, a boy, NOT going to be tiny, and a cute face! We ended up driving over 7 hours each way to get the dog we finally wanted and he's PERFECT!!! Well, at least I think so!

| Mine were: 1. Breeder Reputation 2. Breeder Quality of dogs 3. Puppy/parents/grandparents bone structure includes level topline, gait 4. face (includes, earset, eyes, muzzle, etc..) 5. personality - yorkie true terrier personality - outgoing and intelligence 6. coat (silk/color/straightness) this also includes looking at parents/grand. 7. And above all - health and soundness of dog and parents/grand. All the above is no good without a healthy dog. with a health guarantee. 8. Pedigree - so I could go further with my investigation than just to grandparents. 9. Size: 5 - 7 lbs fully grown - if the dog was smaller or larger - not interested 10. Sex of dog 11. Full registration or co-ownership with full registration later - since my goal was to show Price was not an issue nor contracts or location - I knew what to expect (I did my homework) and would go as far as needed for what I wanted.
