| someone wants to sell their 2yr old Yorkie Ok, so I found someone that is trying to get rid of their 2 year old, female, spayed, house trained Yorkie. I already have a Yorkie (would die for another), but if I could get this one it would be for my mother who recently fell in love with my little guy. This little girl would be so perfect for her. It is exactly what Mom wants. I have already checked into it and everything is fine & her pic is adorable. I am going to see her this weekend. Here is my question.... the person getting rid of the little girl is asking $700. Do you think that she would come down on that? I know that she could get that, no problem, and I am not looking for a "deal", I just really don't have that kind of money to put out right now. She has already received several calls. The ad (at work), didn't have a price on it. She gave that to me when I called. I didn't say anything about the price, I just continued to talk to her about the Yorkie. Is it possible she is throwing that price out there to get serious people only? Does that happen? The price seems kind of high for a 2 year old spayed Yorkie, but I could be wrong. What do you guys think? |

| All you can do is ask if she'll come down a little. Sissy was $1200 as a pup, which meant I had to train her, and spay her. Personally, I think $700 for a trained, spayed little girl is a good price - especially if she is healthy!

| I think if I had a choice of buying a baby and training it and having it spade and all of its shots, or having a 2 year old that already has all that, I might take the 2 yr old if they were the same price as long as it was healthy and maybe from someone I knew and trusted . But you dont know what problems they may already have with a dog that yu would want to train yours to do differently or not to do at all. Some chew up stuff, even your furniture, carpet and shoes and even eat the paper right off yur walls. I teach my dogs no on all that from the start as it is a hard enough problem to break when they first start it. If it has such problems and still doing it at 2 yrs old then to me it would seem like a problem. And some dogs will tear up stuff if you leave them alone. Anyway its a decision you'll have to make and take the bad with the good if you take it. That is, if there is any bad. So whats her reason for selling it? There has to be a reason of some kind. You might want find out that and most arent gonna tell you if it has bad problems like that. goodluck to you and whatever decision yu make.

| If you explained your situation, she might be willing to work something out. I would certainly give it a try. The wost possible thing she could say is "NO". |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | That's a tough question. I know if I had to give up my 2-year-old Yorkie, the price would be irrelevant. In fact, I wouldn't charge anything. All I would care about would be finding a good home.

Well, she said that was the most important thing, was finding her a good home. But $700, dang, is she trying to recoup her losses or what? I could pay 1/2 of that. Hopefully she will accept (once she sees my Sammy, how could she resist) my offer. It's not like we would be breeding her or anything (since she is already spayed). Well, we will see. I will let you all know when I know for sure. | |
