| Lucy with whelps on neck.... PLEASe don't yell Ok, maybe I've been waiting for too long so don't yell at me please, just tell me if I need to get her to the vet. About a week or two ago I have noticed that Lucy and Tank both had bumps on their necks. Now it has turned into like whelps with scabs on top. We couldn't figure out what it was until this weekend I figured out what I'm pretty sure was causing it. We bought them HARTZ flee and tick collars. They have not been wearing them for like two weeks but that's all I can figure it is because the problem is only around their neck. They don't seem bothered by it at all though that's why I havn't taken them to the vet but it's not going away. Does anyone know what this is. Should I take them to the vet to get it checked out. Crystal

| Don't worry, I won't yell at you. But YES I would take them to the vet ASAP. NEVER use anything from Hartz ... their products can be deadly!!

| I'm not yelling either. My shihtzu had a HORRIBLE problem break out from using a Hartz flea collar. After just a few days she had open, oozing sores on her neck. We threw it in the trash, took her to the vet (gosh, this was probably 15 years ago, don't remember what they did) and have never bought a Hartz product since. Or used a flea collar. Don't be hard on yourself. We've all used products we wished we hadn't. And I don't think there is anything wrong with a wait and see attitude with minor issues. You've waited and you've seen it get worse. Now's the time for the vet. Good luck!!!!!

| Ok, I just reread my post and it sounds pretty harsh..... It's not like big whelps that you can see or anything. It's like the size of big zit's that we get on our face. Everytime I rub her neck I think it's like a tick or something.... Just wanted to make that clear. The bumps aren't hughe or anything

| Thanks everyone. I know I should have taken them sooner but since it didn't seem to bother them then I didn't think it was a big deal. I'll call and make an appt. I guess I was just hoping it would clear up on it's own Crystal
