| Coco's dangerous but fun day at the lake So for my dad's birthday we decided to go to the lake on saturday. A big group of us went. It was 110 degrees so I was worried about Coco being out there but I wanted her to be with me. I figured I would dip her in the water to cool off. Anyway I bought a 15 ft. leash and attached that to the buckle of my shorts. She had a great time!!! She even swam in the beach and she got to go on a boat ride and she loved it. My dad stopped the boat in the middle of the lake and we all jumped in, INCLUDING COCO..LOL...she was cooled off all day from jumping in the water...My stupid camera died so i only got to take a picture of her with the kids So here's where the freaky thing happened: My boyfriend and my sister (with the cousins, and kids) wanted to walk down to the beach. I was ok with that but didn't want to take Coco out of our shady sitting area. I didn't want her to have a heat stroke out there since we were going for an hour or so. My mom said she would watch her (mom totally not an animal person but she adores coco). I made her swear up and down for 15 minutes that she would do nothing but keep Coco on a short leash and not let her out of her site. So we come back and my mom goes, "ok don't freak out but something happened"...I freak out! Turns out the people next to us had a Husky with them, and he was tied to a tree. When the owner took him for a walk, he ran fast and she fell and lost control of the dog.He ran straight for Coco. My mom scooped her up and held her close to her chest as the dog began jumping on my mom. The owner got there and according to my mom apologized profusely and smacked her dog on the rear before taking him back. She came back like 4times to make sure Coco was ok (Coco was wanting to play with him so she didn't know what the heck had happened). I'm so glad my mom protected her. I was thking of all of the horrible stories of yorkies being mauled. I don't even know if he would have done anything. Maybe he just wanted to sniff her out, but I'm glad my mom didn't take any chances. I was thanking her all day and just about cried when she told me. I could have lost my little girl if it wasn't for my mom, who by the way is deathly afraid of big dogs. She said she didn't even think about herself, all she could do was react protectively and grab Coco. Sorry for the long post but we had quite a scare I'm just glad nothing happened to her Here's a picture, the only picture..lol..of coco and the kids (we won't tell their parents I posted their pics..lol)

| Sounds like you all had a great time. I am glad that Coco is ok. I bet that was scary. My Mom is not a dog person either but she has always loved my dogs. I hope you don't mind but I wanted to share a funny story with you about my Mom. I had a toy poodle at the time. I was living on a pretty steep hill at the time and my Mom and I decided to leave her house and go to mine. Well the brakes went out on the truck and we ended up sideways looking over a hill. My Mom panicks grabs my poodle and starts to jump out of the truck. I was like Mom stop it is ok. We where fine but it did scare the crap out of me. I started laughing and ask if she was going to save the dog and leave me in there to die.

| I am so glad COCO is safe in your mommy's arms when the husky attacked . . . you would have freaked out if it was you holding COCO, so in a way it was good it happened to your MOM. Looks like everyone had a blast! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Well .....your mom is pretty cool - Not many of our moms would think that fast on their feet - Take that woman out to dinner !! That could have been bad but she really used her brains. |
