| spaying question on personality change Does spaying a female make them more hyper or less or does it usually make any difference. This past week since Kizzy turned 5 months, she has gotten more aggressive and hyper. Not all the time but I can tell a difference. Its like she thinking, well, I'm grown up and I do what I want now about some things, when we scold her or tell her no. I hope it doesnt make them get worse. Is anyone else puppy really strong for their weight. Hubby says she is the strongest puppy he's ever seen for her size. And I can tell she is strong. If she is on her leash she can pull so hard I feel it all way up in my shoulder. I weigh 110 lbs and she can almost make me move if she jerks her leash real quick. Also, I did clip her nails once and she did pretty good and I thought she would do better the next time, but I tried again yesterday and I could not do it, she was awful. So hubby was gonna try to hold her this morning while I cut them and he couldnt hold her, I mean without hurting her and we're not gonna hurt her, so he said you'll just have to take her to the vet or groomer and have it done. She snaps at my hand as soon as I touch her paw and start easing the hair back from around the nail. And he could not hold her head enough to stop her. She is so quick.

| Sounds like a typical little Yorkie. Mine (a male), however, has become much more settled as he has gotten older. I couldn't even comb him when he was a pup - such a wiggleworm. He is 10 months old now and much better. When mine is on a leash - he can pull like a husky. It is unreal how strong these little dogs are, isn't it? I really don't think spaying should make much difference at all -- but, if anything, I would think that it would have a more calming effect than the opposite. Good luck! Carol Jean |

| Spaying didn't change Sissy's personality at all. The strong thing, however - when I clip her nails, my hubby has to hold her entire body and she still squirms to where we can only get maybe one paw done!! They definitely are spunky puppies!!
