| Eeeeeee!!! I Am So Excited!!!! I just contacted a breeder about getting a little girl!!! I saw her picture and I am sooo in love!!!! I can't wait to hear back (I emailed her) to see if she is still available! I've been toying with the idea of getting a little playmate for Oscar pretty much since I got him in March - but I TOLD MYSELF I would WAIT a year or so. Then I started talking about it recently with my boyfriend.. and the time period got shorter... and then shorter... and then I thought, maybe Christmas (a gift to myself!) and now, it looks like it may come even sooner!!! EEEE!! I'm so excited!!! I've been bitten by the 'yorkie bug' and I would have a house full of them if I could! The only thing that worries me is that I might be ruining a good thing with what I have with Oscar... I'm not worried that he wont get along with the puppy - I think he'd get on fantastically with any dog even if they were on his 'turf'. Right now I take Oscar to work with me everyday and the idea is that once I get another one, i'll leave them both home while I'm at work and they can have each other to play and keep company (and of course they'd come into work with me every once in a while). I'm a worry wart - someone tell me this is a GOOD THING!!! (I'm soooo excited!!!!)

| I'm so happy for you! I bet you are bouncing all over the house! I know I would be. Have you picked out a name yet or just waiting to see what fits the personality?

| Thanks everyone! I just hope that the little girl I have in mind is still available.. if not, I know another one will come along.. but you know how it is when you get your heart set on something! As far as names go.. I think I'm going to wait until i see her... Although, I have been toying with the name Dottie. Oscar is named after my poppa who passed when I was little and my grandma's name was Dorothy, we called her Dot or Dottie, so the two names just naturally go together to me. Plus, Dottie sounds like a name for something teeny and cute! What do you guys think?

| I LOVE the name Dottie!!!!! I just want to let you know that I know EXACTLY how you feel about being a little apprehensive about getting a second yorkie. Our story sounds EXACTLY like yours....we toyed with the idea of getting a 2nd one...then put down a deposit...then became really apprehensive as the time drew near for us to get her. I thought I would be ruining a great thing that I had with Hobbs. But I am SO glad that I got a second one! I would not change it for the world! Hobbs sounds a lot like Georgie....he is OBSESSED with other animals and LOVES playing with other dogs. So naturally I thought he would immediate be in love with our new puppy. But I will have to tell you, it really took some adjusting to get Hobbs used to Hootie (whom we got 3 weeks ago). I think there is just something about brining a new puppy home "permanently." So, be prepared for Georgie to have to make some adjustments. It took Hobbs about a week and a half to get used to Hootie, but now they are getting along GREAT and seem to be becoming really good friends. |
