| Frogknot was a very bad boy this morning!!! The puppies were in the backyard and I heard some blue jays screaming, I stepped out on the deck and saw them up in the trees so I ran to grab my camera. When I stepped back outside again I realised (as one tried to dive bomb Frog) that there was a problem in the backyard. They had a little baby and Frog was dragging him around the backyard. I put the camera down and ran down the stairs and got him from Frog. He doesn't have any blood on him (thankfully) but it looks like one of his back legs is mangled. That could have been something that happened before, which could be why he ended up in our backyard, I have him all wrapped up on a baby blanket and I'm holding him as he sleeps. Poor little guy. I don't know if he will make it or not. http://static.flickr.com/61/168871609_55ffdcd16f_b.jpg Bailey keeps coming in and checking on him. She's such a little mommie. I've been holding him and Bailey sniffs him and licks him on the beak. Frog, on the other hand, would like to have him for a snack. |

| Do not get too attached, as the little bird will probably not make it - they rarely do when they fall and are injured. And please do not fault Frogknot for playing with the baby bird - a little toy that moves...what Yorkie could resist! It is sad but little birds that fall are always at risk, just a fact of nature. |

| I too say don't get too attached, I've tried to save 2 babies birds that have fallen and it's virtually impossible. They were thrown out of their nest for a reason, or if they fell they are very badly hurt (internal problems). It's really sad

| The baby is doing great!!! I kept him wrapped in a blanked and after about an hour and a half he suddenly came to life and started to fly!! I put him in the front yard (well away from the monster boy) and he started to call for his mom right away. Right now he's sitting under a bush and his mom and dad are up in the tree above him! Looks like all is fine! Here are his pictures http://www.flickr.com/photos/scribbl...7594168493464/ I'm so glad that Froggie didn't cause any serious damage!! |

| I hope the little bird does all right , but frognot was just being a typical terrier! I know if my Oscar ever got within range of Alfie he would have him in a minute, when Alfie get in a strop about something he tries to jump up to Oscars cage , but there is no way that he can get to him , thank goodness. Is frog, still in the bad books?

Frog has been living in the bad book zone for about a week now. He's been a little terror (must be those teenage years!!) I can't ever stay mad at him though - he melts my heart and he knows it! lol | |

I'm glad that the baby bird is okay though. I guess Frogknot just wanted a new toy to play with?

| I had to rehome my playful, affectionate little Conure (a little parrot) because of my little Yorkie. This beautiful bird needed to be out of his cage everyday. He played on his playgym and rode around the house on my shoulder a lot. But everytime, he fluttered to the floor (he was clipped), in a split second, my little pup came from nowhere and was playfully right on top of him. After about 4 - very frightening episodes - I realized that my wonderful little pet bird just had to go to a safer home. Luckily, I found a wonderful new home for him where is he "as happy as a bird" -- with a stay-at-home mom, a new boyfriend, and several other bird friends. My little Yorkie was never aggressive toward this bird, but just wanted to pounce on him and play with him --- like a toy..... still - this could have killed him just as quickly, and if anything had ever happened to him, I would never have forgiven myself. NOW - we have two little parakeets - who live in their large cage 100% of the time. They are safe and happy and sing constantly. So - all is well at the zoo again. Carol Jean |

| No such happy ending here. You know I think Starsky killed a bird a couple of weeks ago. All of a sudden I heard all this bird racket in my back yard and the dogs were silent. I went outside and there is Starsky just staring down at a dead baby bird. The birds in the trees were screaming at him and swooping around him. Haggis, the beagle, was looking at the bird too. I think Starsky saw it in the grass and went to run and scare it away, like he always does and he was so fast he ran right over it before it could fly and killed it. I think Starsky was shocked too. Anyway, we did not have a happy ending here, the bird died. At least it was a very common robin and not a beautiful blue jay!
