Potty Training I got Bella when she was 8 weeks old, and now she is 8 months. I haven't been able to get her potty trained. I feel like I've tried everything. I take her outside all the time, I give her praise and treats when she goes. However, half the time she won't go on the grass, I'll put her there and she'll walk onto the concrete and pee or poo. Do I praise her for not going on the grass since she went outside? I'm running out of ideas because she still goes in the house, and doesn't really let me know when she has to go. She also goes in her crate sometimes, so I don't think she is really crate trained. I need help!

Don't give up on doing what you're doing. Mitzi doesn't like to go in the grass either and does her business only on concrete. Maybe the grass bothers her on her you know what. When I came into her live she was already 4 y.o. and wasn't potty trained. Now we have a "schedule" and I'm watching her closely so we have no more accidents any more (almost... I don't wanna jinx it!)

When we first started making progress - just about two weeks ago - I decided really quickly that she was getting treats and getting praise for going ANYWHERE as long as it was outside the house! Sidewalk, patio, even the front porch! I can hose those off in just a minute or two, and it's a major relief to not have puppy potty all over the house! (Though I have to be honest about it - other than offending our sensabilities, just how big a mess can a 3-lb Yorkie make?)
