| Maddie's scared of her water dish! I bought Maddie a new water dish and she's scared of it. It is one that has that bottle that fills the bowl when it gets low. Maddie was drinking and it went, "Glub Glub Glub" and it scared the heck out of her. It was rather comical...she flew straight backwards away from the dish. After that, she kept barking in the kitchen and it took me a while to realize she was thirsty, but scared of that water dish. I'd sit down by it and stick my finger in it to show her it was okay and she'd slowly creep up to it, but very careful not to get too close...stretching that neck to reach it...then she'd quickly take a sip or two and quickly back up. She'd keep taking a lick or two and backing up. I have tried to let her see that it isn't a monster, but finally had to go back to her old water dish and now she's happy. That little stinker is so funny! Leave it to Maddie to be scared of a water dish!

| I think that is so cute. They sure let you know when somethings wrong. Water bowls are not supposed to make noises mom. Gus did that one time with his water when there was a June bug in it. Oh he was so upset. He barked and barked till I got it out. And even after that he was a bit cautious about approaching with water bowl. It was so funny!

I did go back to their old water dish now my cat has it. it is funny to watch them bark at it, also Ty has had a bowl since he was 8 wks old mind you he is 2 now when his food is gone out of his bowl next to it is another bowl the same kind that is full of food, he will paw at it till I fill it up he won't eat out of the other bowl. When I wash them he knows which bowl is is. they are smart little doggies lol |

| jAbout a year ago, we switched to one of those water bowls that circulates and filters the water. So it has like a little water fall AND motor noise! When we first got it the cat was the only one brave enough to go near it. He just walked right up to it, kneeled down, and drank like he'd been doing it all his life! (gotta love cats) Ginger just barked at it and kept running away every time it made a noise. Kirby lay down about three foot away and stared at the water longingly. I thought, great $40 bucks to make their life better, and they are afraid ...very often the way it goes around here (but that's another thread) So, I sat the old comfortable water dish about a 3 feet away. Then 2 feet, one foot, etc. Eventually (a few days later), I just took it away. They've been drinking out of the waterfall one ever since. Ginger doesn't even drink out of the bowl, she uses the fountain! Maddie's so smart, she'll get it! (maybe you could borrow a cat who could show her the way LOL)

| Funny! I know cause I witness it too. I've had one for 2 years, and he still jumps when it makes that noise, I crack up everytime, he's not afraid to drink out of it, but he did the same thing at first, there are times he walks by and it makes the noise and he really looses it, barking at it..
