| Dentist Appt. Today I have had Sadie for a year, and she will be four years young in July. Today I took her in to have her teeth cleaned. Talk about a nervous wreck, and it was worse when I had to sign a form stating that the doc would not be held liable is she dies from the anesthesia. I could not feed her or give her any water after midnight last night. I took her in at 9:30a today, and brought her home at 2p. Poor baby. She was all glossy eyed, and I felt like a horrible Mom, but then I peeked inside of her mouth and her teeth are gorgeous. She did have to get one tooth removed, but the vet said it was very loose. I was surprised that she could not have any water until after 6p tonight, and then not very much. The worst part is that she cannot eat all day today. She seems fine with that as she has been sleep ALL day. The vet used isoflourene (sp) gas, and Sadie had to have a tube down her throat. Is it common to intubate them? I suppose that is the only way to do it, but I am curious. Also, I was told that she will cough for a few days. So far, she has not coughed too much because she is sleeping. I am curious to know if she will be more like herself tomorrow, or will she still be slightly sedated? I guess I am just reaching out here, as I want to do everything right. Many thanks! Kate - Concerned Mom

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Hey there....I just saw this - how did last night go ? She should feel much better today - lots of yorkies need teeth pulled and usually it takes a day or 2 for them to get back to their old selves.....Sending get well wishes - but I bet she eats and drinks today without problems. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Glad that it's over with. She should be fine in a day or two like Villette said.

She has slept alot today, but really, she is just fine. I cannot take my eyes off of her pearly whites. I dread doing this again a year from now. Thanks.
