| $1800 yorkie at pet shop with APR??????? OKay.. so I went to a pet shop.. it is like.. private kinda owner.in New Hampshire. not like a chain . I liked the store before because I was into Aquarium for long time and they have good stuff for fish!! So after long time... since I drove there to see what they have for dogs... They had good stuff.. but a bit more money.. since it is not chain. THen I Saw dogs!!! Maybe 10.. or more different breeds. WEll.. price was.. a bit too much ... I thought. There were two yorkies. Male yorkie for $1800. I thought it was a bit outrages.. for a pet shop dog... they probably are from puppy mills.. (I shouldn't stereotype.. but). I mean.. then.. they come with a paper for APR.. I think it is what it said. Not AKC. There was only one Shih Tzu that comes with AKC. All the dogs were over 1000 dollars. They said Financing Available.. so I wonder if they were talking about the interests Nah.. I think they meant something else. I just thought it was interesting.. but I didn't ask the store people. I used the bathroom there.. and left empty handed. They had some good stuff.. but I prefer buying stuff from other stores.. I thought.... So after going four pet shops.. I ended up buying everything at Petsmart.

| You think $1800 is expensive, look at this website...there are 3 yorkies on here selling for $10,000 each!! ALL of them are overpriced. I go to this website often to look at the cute puppies and gawk at how expensive they are. The person running this website has a very bad reputation, so I just go there to look http://jdane1.homestead.com/teacups.html |

| Wow $1800 is high. They run about a $1000 at our pet store. Anyway good for you for not buying anything from the petstore. I always buy my stuff from Petsmart and Petco too.

| Run from Jeff Dane! And if you are reading this Mr. Dane, it is not because I am worried about you or feel that you are my competition (yeah right) but because I despise puppy mills and "facilities" for dogs. I have seen your 10k yorkie pups and talked to people who have received sick puppies from you. Sorry you all...needed to vent. |

| wow $1800 is expensive for a little yorkie. I spent half of that on Buttercup and in my mind I still think he is expensive. I had to adopt him because my son was going to be mad if i didn't. So I had no choice and now we are in love with him |

I once priced my babies much higher than they are now. Mainly because I was paying this same HIGH PRICE to aquire my adults to produce these puppies. Boy did I learn the hard way. I have since learned that there ARE ethical breeders out there who strive to produce a quality yorkie and offer them at a fair and reasonable price because they truly love the breed and only want their pups to be in loving homes as pet or with someone who intends to show. Yes, there is a difference between pet and show prospect price. I have found that there are excellent show prospects out there for the same price as some are charging for pet. On a last note, ALL yorkies are priceless! But whether it be $500 or $10,000 we must all first pay the pauper.

Well the problem is, they don't know if they are for sure show quality until they are much older. They do know if they are definitely not show quality at a much younger age, and that is why they sell them at reasonable prices. I just paid $1500 fior a male, but he is a parti color carrier, so that makes him worth more, to people who want to breed parti coloreds, than one who is not a carrier. The price differences on these puppies is mind boggling. It seems like the breeders just pick a price, with no rhyme or reason. They would have to give me a darn good reason as to why one particular dog is twice the price of another one. Just my opinion, and nothing against people who have paid more. I just can't make any sense out of it.
