| ![]() I was walking my daughter, Hannah, to school this morning and we took Lola with us. We came to the end of the street and a lady was stopped in her car. She had a dog, and Hannah went up and asked if she could pet the pup. When we got closer I saw that she had a YT too! I was so excited because we never see any other yorkies! He was sitting on the seat and I picked Lola up so that she could see the other dogs. The lady gave me a dirty look and asked what kind of dog she was. I told her she was a yorkie and she seemed shocked. She said oh, she's big! I was kind of taked aback, Lola is only 5 and a half pounds! It was just such a strange encounter. The lady was rude and I felt bad for my daughter. She asked why the lady didn't like Lola and why she was mean. I would have never let Hannah go up to the car, but she asked and the woman said sure you can pet them. I just found it so strange. Sorry, I just had to vent! What is the world coming to when a 6 pound dog is huge! LOL Thanks for letting me get it off my chest! ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() I wouldnt worry about it. Some people are just rude. She would have really been in shockwaves if it were my 10 lb yorkie she saw.

| ![]() I am SOOO not worried about it. It was just so wierd! Lola looks just like a yorkie and the woman was shocked that she was one. Her pup was probably like 3 or 4 pounds, small but not that much of a difference. It really bothered Hannah, that was what made me a little upset! Thanks guys, I guess I just think all dogs are awesome and can't believe that people can be that way!

| ![]() I had a similar experience the other night. On the way to one of my daughter's softball games, me and my other daughter dropped by to give something to my Grandma who's in a nursing home. I usually take Tatum to the games so I had her with me. Well, a nurse in the hall was cooing all over her and said she used to have two of them but she said "MINE were so much smaller. Yours looks huge compared to what mine were". It was the snide better-than-you attitude that she said it with. And Tatum is barely 5 pounds AND short and petite. What was that attitude for??

| ![]() I took Jasmine to my granddaughter's softball tournment the other day and as we were leaving I put Jas down and let her walk on the leash. One of the mother's of another player said "Is that a Yorkie? I relied that she was. She said she had one but it was smaller and it's hair was black. She had never seen one the color of Jas. Apparently she hasn't seen very many yorkies or even pictures of them. Jas is 5 lbs, very petite. Her hair is long and I had her topknot all done up in a bow. She is gold in all the places she should be and her dark hair still has a lot of silver in it. She is only 10 months old. She looks VERY much like a Yorkie. If you know anything about the breed I don't know how you could mistake her for anything but a Yorkie. She did go on to say she couldn't take her's anywhere as it was totally hyper and would never have acted as well behaved as Jasmine. |

| ![]() I don't think that "the smaller - the better" is a criterium for Yorkies. ![]() |

| ![]() I know, aren't people strange! The other dog did not look like a puppy. I think some people must live in their own little bubble. I am never that surprised by people, I was a flight attendant before I had my daughter and after that, not much is surprising! LOL!!! Thanks for all of the comments, it is nice to have people that understand.
