| Welcome to Yorkie Talk Thank you for being so diligent. I hope to goodness you are able to adopt this baby. The fact that you don't even know the extent of her health issues and are still willing to stick your neck out speaks volumes about your heart and you as a person and animal lover. We will all be watching this and are right there with you in your passion to do the right thing for this baby. I think you two were meant to be together. I mean what are the chances of being there in Pet Smart seeing her brought in...and then being able to locate her at the shelter??? There is a special place in the hereafter for people like you! I hope the next few days fly by and you have your little girl in no time! Best of luck and God's speed!

This sweet little lost dog is so lucky to finally have someone like you who cares. Please do keep us posted with your adoption status. I will be praying for this to turn out in a happily-ever after storybook ending for both of you. God bless you.... | |

My biggest piece of advise is to nicely keep pressing how much you are willing to do for this dog. Have you gone down to visit? Can you put your name on the card on his cage? If you go make sure you wear a very old pair of shoes that you don't mind leaving outside in a plastic bag. I have one pair that I keep in the trunk of my car and are only worn into and out of animal control. I so have my fingers crossed for you.

| Saying prayers for you and that poor little babe, he looks like he needs a great big heart like yours to surround him. Our wish for him is to be placed with a parent such as you, one that understands uncontional love. Perhaps you could also send the name and number of your vet, so they can be sure that you are willing to take care of him the way that you say you are....Please keep us posted. Welcome to YT.

| Thanks again for all the kind words and encouragement! To answer some of your questions: I have relayed to Animal Control the name of the vet I have used for years (stressed that a second time in an email this morning). I have been to Animal Control twice. The head of Animal Control has contacted me twice by email, the last one this morning. I sent another followup email this morning with this proposal and will follow this up with a phone call later: --------------------- I can understand your wanting to get this animal into an environment that will allow her to have the best quality of life possible. I can provide that. What I am proposing is that you allow me to adopt this Yorkie. I would be able to pick it up as soon as you will release it and will get it in to my vet immediately (same day) so we can start it on a path to recovery to a better quality of life. The vet I have used for many years is Deerwood Animal Clinic. I am also prepared to get the animal to another veterinary specialist if required. I am prepared to get the dog the same day you will release it. I am concerned that time is important here and I would be prepared to get it as early as today and fast-track it to the vet. I can also provide you with followup reports as the animal progresses. If you would like me to meet with you or one of your representatives in person, I would also be available to do that. I have been to your facility twice concerning this animal. I have the time, resources, and patience to help this animal. I am ready to act when you give the go ahead... --------------------- ...I will update everyone when I know more. |

| I'm hoping things work out for the best for you & the little dog. I'm sure each day seems awfully long as you wait... A long time ago, I found a lost Afghan hound. My dad said animal control had to try & find the owner. They gave us the run around for over 2 weeks, then said they'd found the owner. We suspected something fishy, so we visited the trailer park where the owner supposedly lived. There was no sign of the dog. The person there gave some story about giving it to a relative. In the end, we believe a corrupt person at the pound sold the dog bc it was a purebred. I really don't mean to be discouraging - things have changed a lot since then & each shelter is different, but IMO being very persistant is a good thing. Let absolutely everyone there know of your interest & willingness to help - perhaps volunteer to give the dogs exercise, baths or something? Maybe ask about donating treats or toys? Get a name each time you speak to someone, keep track of what's said and thank them often for their help. They probably take a bit of heat for the % of animals put down & may remember you as "the nice one". The suggestion to attach the dog's picture (and maybe one of you!) to the email from the shelter guy is good. As is getting your vet involved. I've also heard of some pounds that use a pre-adoption process to speed things up. People pay a small fee upfront and get the paperwork started ahead of time. It is usually non-refundable, but if things don't work out for some odd reason, just consider it a donation. Hope all works out. You are so kind to care! |

| I have all my fingers and toes crossed that this sweet baby will find its way into your loving home. Keep being as persistent and involved in every way that you can. I am sure the animal control people are well aware of your concerns for this dog and will do the right thing. Good luck to you and God bless you for being so willing to open up your home and heart to a little animal who truly needs it. I only wish there were more caring people like you in this world!!

| Be on time When the yorkie is available for adoption....ask the workers at the front desk...make sure you are waiting in line when they unlock the doors. If she is not out, in an open cage.....ask someone to get her...that you want to adopt her.... Make sure that you tell the workers that you are interested, they willbe less likely to euthenize her before you get there. good luck |
