I am sorry to sound so preachy (what else is new) but I feel very strongly that respect is how we (everyone) can keep things on a more neutral ground and hopefully keep things from being taken personal. But reality is we do have those 'bad apples' who love to stir up trouble at the drop of a hat. My best advise is dont' let those ones get to you. They will get what they deserve. And I'm only speaking of those types of people that are evil and do things maliciously.

If I ever come across in a nasty way please bring it to my attention. That is not my intention.

When I started this thread I was addressing most thread topics in general, however you have made a very good point. It seems to me that the large majority of conflicts arise on threads that discuss breeding practices. It is great that people are so passionate about the breed that they want to develop the very best programs that protect the integrity of the breed. Everyone has the best intentions and have their own way of doing things. As a non-breeder, whenever I read these threads, I am amazed at how people who supposedly are working towards similar goals can become outright mean, nasty and insulting. It shouldn't be that way. People should learn from one another and if you have a different way of doing things than me, then I should thank you for allowing me to see things from another angle instead of making you feel like an idiot because of it!! JMO

Well I hope my message of respect reaches not only breeders but pet owners as well. If we all respect eachothers views or opinions (doesn't mean to agree) we could have a lot less conflict in general. I brought up the breeders because well, I am a breeder. But courtesy and respect should be EOE!

As a newbie, it seems that a lot of people have assumed that this is my first stop on the way to owning a Yorkie; it's not. I've read several books and visited several rescue and breeders' sites before making my way here. I've got a fairly good grasp on the "concept", but I still have some questions, ya know? But it seems like some know more than God himself, or at least think they do... If I wanted to have conversations like those, I'd call my mother-in-law.

LOL. As someone who HAD that mother-in-law....it took me awhile...but I finally learned just let her say whatever whenever, never disagreed and did whatever the heck I was gonna any way

Very well said, that is ultimately what I have tried to say before. Maybe not as calmly because I was a little frustrated, but my point no less. So, if I offended anyone when I was trying to make this point, that was not the intention. But I have just felt that it needed to be said........ In the end you have put it well.

Good for you! Not me, I went into a petstore and got Baby. (Now I know better.) Didn't know much about Yorkies. I'm being honest. Now I know too much!! I kinda did things a-- backwards. Well, at least I wasn't one of those people who gets in over their head and gets rid of their baby. I would NEVER do that! I love her TONS!
