| AHHH so scary! My heart was pounding- I ALMOST KILLED MY BOYFRIEND! AH! So he went outside to call his dad and then came inside and me and my three roommates were all in the kitchen cooking breakfast and I usually check on Oliver every couple of minutes if I can't see him- I'll call him to the kitchen or I'll go look to make sure he's not in any trouble (chewing stuff, scratching, etc) So after making some toast I went in the living room to see what he was up to and the front door was cracked open! I yelled at my boyfriend for leaving it open (and he feels bad and he is the one that bought Oliver for me so it isn't a case of him not caring about MY dog- it's both of ours) So we both ran outside. We live on a pretty calm street but on the corner is a VERY busy street that leads to a freeway (just 300ft away) SO it gets very busy!!! I was so scared! I called and called and Oliver didn't come and I ran in the house shaking and found his skweeky toy and he came charging at me from an apartment complex parkinglot next door. I was so happy to see his little face. OH MY GOSH_ needless to say I was a VERY upset girl. I'm jsut so glad he's okay. We will be LOCKING the door everytime we com einside from now on to omake sure it's closed. Everyone please be careful. He must have just wandered because he's not the type to bolt out the door. He always calmly laysdown and "stays" when the door is open and peopel are walking in and out. He's very good about that- so he must have just sniffed the fresh air and decided to sniff around. Scared the begeebuzes outta me. BE CAREFUL EVERYONE!! (We all know this but it really hit home for me!)

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I'm so glad he's OK. I am so scared that Cali is going to get out. We live in a Ranch house with an attached garage and I am real careful but my dtr and hubby aren't as diligent as I am. My Pom never runs out and I can let her off leash outside and she stays with me but Cali would be in the next county before I could catch her. It's a good reminder to all of us thanks.

| Your story reminded me of the time that my son had some friends over. After they shut the door, I looked for Debbie but couldn't find her. I opened the front door and there she was standing on the stoop looking a little surprised. I am so glad that I thought to look for her right away. She's only three pounds and it was dark outside. Thanks for the reminder and I think I'll remind my son about this again too. I'm glad your story had a happy ending too. |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Bailey, my 19 month old Havanese, is a trained hearing service dog for me. Recently the ex-gardener, left the back gate open and my 2 little Biewers got out. Bailey went balistic--signaling me to the front door, running up and down the stairs, signaling to me to go to the door. When I opened the front door Bailey went racing out (I freaked)....and rounded up my two little Biewers bringing them back to the front door. He saved my Biewers from wandering away. He is a hero. Did I mention the ex-gardener left the gate open? |

| Oliver's Great Adventure! I am so glad you found him. There is no worse feeling in the world thinking he is gone and you will never see him again. I did not realize a heart could get so far up in my throat as when we thought we lost Oscar...he was under the front porch the whole time but for 30 minutes or more we searched high and low...at night! So glad he is home safe and sound!!!
