I have read some posts about people going through whelping with very little knowledge. I can't imagine how intimidating the experience must be, especially with the really little Moms. Do vets take care of natural births or do they push to have C-sections? It would be nice if there were midwives for dogs - don't you think?

My clinic has one. She is awesome. Her name is Barb Vick. I am so thankful I have her because I work full time and she whelps my litters while I'm at work if need be. They do not enforce c-sections. It's up to the owner really.

I did it for years..much easier to whelp another breeders litter then my own.
