Kloey and are cat does not get along very well, Kloey is curious of the cat and the cat is older and wants nothing to do with her, they have gotten into many fights and I hate this, my husband has had the cat for many many years so it's not like I can just get rid of the cat (kloey is not going anywhere) but when they fight, my husband gets mad at Kloey, I just don't know what to do.... |

| I wish I had some advice. I have two cats, one who is a 20 pound orange tabby and very mean in general. We thought we were gonna have problems with him (his name is Hobbes) and Matthias when Mattie came home, but it turned out that the two are just about the best of friends. They play tag all the time. Not mean tag, but fun I wish I could join in too tag. My other cat, Phoebe, pretty much just ignores Mattie. Mattie will give her a sniff and maybe sneak in a really quick lick on her nose, but that's about the extent of their relationship. I wish I could tell you some quick trick to get them to play nice, but I have no advice for you, I"m sorry. Do remind hubby that it takes two to fight and typically a new puppy is just trying to learn more about the family members in the house. An older cat is more likely to swing the first paw punch, and the puppy is gonna react the only way it knows how to. I would really watch closely to see who is the one that is the most resistant to tolerance.

| We have 2 siamese cats and Kobe has never gotten along with them. If they come into the room he is in ..........he chases them out. Occasionally they will hide and jump out and slap him. But he growls and chases them out. I do crate him when we are gone for his own safety. |

| How old is Kloey? I was having a problem with my Yorkie pup chasing the cat but he doesn't chase as much anymore. I kept trying to separate them but then I let the cat nip him once. I know my cat so I wouldn't recommend you just let your cat bite your puppy. Also I would clap my hands and say no. Not sure which worked but he doesn't bother the cat anymore. |

Kloey is 10 months old. When they have gotten into fights, usually the cat swats at Kloey and Kloey just goes off on the cat and the cat chickens out, but I have clapped my hands loudly, said NO, done about everything I can to think of. It is getting better, the cat knows Kloey will hurt him so he stays away, but I don't want my hubby getting mad at my dog! | |

All I can say is continue your discipline and hope for the best. Typically, they'll work it out. And yes it can take a few months sometimes
