| She Ate Poop! Hi all. Just a few minutes ago my little 3 month old girl ate poop! I have a boy who is 6 months and he pooped on the potty pad. Within seconds I turn around and I see his fesh poop going down her mouth. By the time that I could even get close enough she swallowed it whole. Don't mean to be graphic but it was about and inch long and down her throat it went! Is there something wrong with her!? I am so disgusted right now. I am sick to my stomach! |

| My reformed poop eater wants you to know there's nothing wrong with her. A lot of dogs do and there are different reasons why. It took a while to train Gus to leave it alone and occasionally I still see him eyeing some poop. http://www.thepetprofessor.com/artic...le.aspx?id=105

| It's gross to us but not to them. Do you brush her teeth? That always made me feel a little better. Just watch out for those kisses for a while.

| Oh, wow, that really is gross! I'm so glad I wasn't eating anything chocolate while reading! I wish I could offer some suggestions but I've never had to deal with that problem! (thank God!) Julie |

| I know it seems very disgusting, but rest assured your puppy is not the only one who does this. There are quite a few on YT who have mentioned their dogs doing this. Here is one vet's explanation to why dogs eat poop: http://familyfun.go.com/parenting/le...petveteatpoop/ Here is also another one...Poop Eaters Anonymous (Cute) http://www.dogtrainingbasics.com/Poo...0Anonymous.htm Also there is something called deter...I think it is pills you give your dog/dogs and it will make their poop taste not so good (if that makes any sense) LOL. I'm sure you'll get more info from others that have dealt with this issue. Good luck!

| Don't know why dogs do this, but many do it as puppies. Some NEVER stop doing it. It's a good reason for you to pick up poops as soon as possible. Oh---be warned--If your little one likes doggie poops, he'll LOVE cat poops. There are products you can buy (including meat tenderizer) to put in a dog's food so the end result is not so appealing. These have met with mixed success, according to several YT members. |
