| Difference in Steel blue and Silver How hard is it to tell the difference in color? Someone said to me that Pita looks blue, someone who has no clue about Yorkies, she's very silver but I don't know about blue. If she is blue will it jump right out at me when her coat finishes changing or is it hard to tell the difference, does anyone have or know of pictures I can look at? Technically, since Pita will be fixed it doesn't matter but I think it would be cool if she could be as close to the breed standard as possible. Thanks, Jennifer |

| What some people do to test the blueness is to take a black leather watch band and hold it up to the fur. If it matches, the coloring is not blue.

| I'm pretty sure the blue is closer to black.. but honestly - I'm almost as in the dark as you are I'll let one of the more experienced people with the breed take on the rest of this - I don't want to give out the wrong information

| I get confused here too..lol.but my vet told me that you can tell a blue coat when you look at your yorkies coat in the sunlight. If the black part of the coat looks as if it has blue highlights (dark blue),then this colour is considered steel blue.Ladys coat looks as if it has red highlights in the sun,but Jess does have the blue look.I dont know how true this is because Iv heard so many names for the colours of a yorkie that Im totally confused in this area..to me they are just black and brown! lol. |

| I see the blue is in the black color and has nothing to do with the silver she has. I was under the impression steel blue was a silver color cuz steel is silver... |
