| Potty training I'm crate training my little one and it seems to be working ok so far. She hasn't had and accident in her crate, which is very good. When I let her out of the crate I immediatly put her on the pee pee pad. She tries to run away about 15 times before she will go pee. The problem is when she has to poop. She will NOT go on the pads. I don't know what to do. I've only had her for a few days and I'm already getting frusterated. I was also wondering what to do about whining in the crate. It's getting unbearable! If anyone has any tips or anything please share them with me.

| I'm sorry, I don't have any good advice - I trained Rowdy to go outside and he did pretty good. I did leave a pee pad in his x-pen when I had to leave him when he was little, and sometimes he would use it, sometimes not. Good luck - I would just say repitition repitition repitition and treats when she gets it right.

| here is what I did for potty training... I spread out about 6 potty pads on the floor, in the area that I wanted to keep her potty pad. Everytime she would potty on the pads I would praise her like crazy and make a HUGE fuss over it. I also gave her a treat every time she went, which ended up being a bad idea cuz she's almost 2 and still wants a treat every time she goes. Anyway, gradualy take away a potty pad untill you are left with one pad. When Gracie did not go on the pad, I used a stern voice and I told her "No". It really helps to catch them in the act. I would always pick her up and bring her to the paper to finish her buisness, even if she was already finished. When she did go on the pad I would always say "Good girl, you pottyed on the paper" when she was bad, I added to the NO "we only potty on the paper". Now if I say "potty on the paper", she knows and goes straight to the paper! Another thing I did was to soak up her pee off the floor with one of the pads and I put that pad in the center of all of the potty pads on the floor. That way she would smell the pee/poop and associate it with pottying. I hope if you decide to try this it works for you too!
